Flag Football Curl Flat: A Good Place To Start
By FirstDown PlayBook on Jun 14, 2020

There is a strong correlation between the explosion in popularity of 7on7 football and Flag football across the globe. Both are fast and fun and carry over just enough of the principles of tackle football to make it competitive and fun.

It has always been obvious to us that there is a natural progression from what the younger flag football player does and the 7on7 player does. That is, if it is taught correctly.

It can be very tempting to just throw your hands up as a flag football coach and not worry about teaching football principles. Please don’t. It’s not good for the kids and it’s not good for the game.

Here is a very basic example of how you can teach your flag football players a sound principle that will carry over to 7on7 football. Just shorten the route depth to match your QB’s arm strength. Heck this will carry over to Saturday and Sunday if it is executed properly.
