Ohio State Punt Block Highlights All 22 Tuesday
By FirstDown PlayBook on Sep 17, 2019

Now we can’t honestly say that we are keeping an exact count of how many punts and kicks Ohio State has collected over the past two years but it’s getting to be significant. Already this season they have notched a blocked field goal and on Saturday they added a blocked punt against Indiana.

Like almost every aspect of football, it starts with personnel and the Buckeyes have athletes to spread all the way across the line of scrimmage who can get to the block point. The one dude who stands out though is Chris Olave. This guy is sudden and we have seen him execute nearly flawless punt block technique on several occasions.

Olave showed up in last year’s Michigan game and Saturday’s punt block technique was as good as you will find in a football game on Saturday or Sunday across the country. Having said that though, we definitely tip our hat to the coaches at OSU. ┬áThis block was well designed and make no mistake about it #69 from Indiana was a marked man who was going to have to block three rushers.

Later today we will detail this out with our friends over at USA Football. We will also look at three other outstanding football plays from this past weekend as we bring you another detailed All 22 Tuesday!
