Why Read It Like That & What’s An Alert?
By FirstDown PlayBook on Nov 19, 2017

Every now and then we will get questions about why would read a pass play a certain way and we try to make it very clear that we do not know your personnel and there are often more ways to read a drop back pass play than one.

In fact we will often give more than one quarterback read for a pass play and use the wording “Suggested Read” as we write up our coaching points because with as many football plays as we have in FirstDown PlayBook we certainly realize that there are a lot of different ways to execute the exact same play based personnel situation and how the defense is playing you. We talk about that a little in this brief video and we also explain what it means when we put a possible “Alert” on a receiver for the quarterback.
